U11 Manchester Festival Squad 2009

It is the Manchester Festival on Sunday 18th October, all squad players need to be at the cub by 10:30 to warm up for our first game at 11:00.

 

Unlike the Stockport Festival the Manchester Festival will be a "League then Knock Out" competition so the number of matches we play will be dependent on how successful we are, the coaches will try to ensure all players get as much match time as possible while maintaining a strong team to try and ensure we progress in the competition, the better we play the more match time we will get.

 

At the Manchester Festival there will not be player lunches provided. There will be a barbecue and other stalls where you can buy food, could parents please ensure players have sufficient food and snacks and plenty of drinks as well as waterproofs and warm clothing.

 

There will be parking for the festival charged at £5 per car or if walking an entry fee of £2 per adult.

 

We currently have over twenty five players in the U11 age group, throughout the season the coaches will en devour to ensure all players get the chance to play in competitive matches.

 

For the Manchester Festival the policy of the coaches is to rotate some players but ensure we still select a competitive squad.

 

For this festivals we are limited to a squad size of 18 players, the following players have been selected.

We hope everyone enjoys the festival and the squad perform to their potential as we feel when they play well they are a match for any team.

FW: Sale RFC Oct 11th....see their website...we are expected....

Firstly the coaches would like to say a warm welcome to the new team members & their parents.
We think we have some new found talent!

Hope those who could attend had a good time on Sunday, we think it was a great match and a great result.
Plus the coaches in attendance were impressed with the team work and maturity so early on in the season.

Training is still on at Hazel Grove school tomorrow, 6:45pm, if you fancy a free game of rugby Meet the president day on Saturday and of course training on Sunday.

PS - don't forget your subs (last week for the £10 discount) and wine /chocs for the Stockport Festival.

M & J Meeting - change of date

As the club have appointed a steward who will be opening the clubhouse
on Wednesdays & Thursdays, we have decided to move the meeting to
Thursday 10th September. As the main focus of the meeting will be the
forthcoming festival, it is very important that every age group is
represented so can you please make every effort to either be there or
send a representative – Juniors are included in this as we will all
have a role to play on the day and this is your chance to make any
suggestions on the distribution of tasks.

Wednesday Training

For those who were unable to attend the last M & J Meeting, due to the
pitch congestion for Wednesday night training, the following was
agreed:

Under 13's & U16's Training from 6:30 to 8pm

Under 14's & 15's Training from either 7 or 7:30

Under 17's to continue training on Thursday as previous season

There is no space for Mini training at the club once we are limited to
the 1 training pitch (i.e. when the floodlights are required) however
the facility at Hazel Grove Recreation Centre is available from 6:45
to 7:30.

Pitch Space for 6th September

I have attached the pitch allocation for 6th September.  Everyone
please have patience with your fellow members as we know it is going
to be very tight with all the mini and Junior age groups present.
I have placed the younger age groups on the first team pitch to
protect this as much as possible.
Please be aware that there is a Junior Colts League match scheduled
for 12:30 KO, and they will need to use the first team pitch.

OPRO GUM SHIELD FITTINGS SEPTEMBER 13th AT SRUFC

OPRO will once again be holding a fitting session for gum shields at
the Club on September 13th from 9am onwards. Please collect a form
from the Clubhouse in advance, or just turn up on the day
